The FMRRA 2020 Team Championship started off on fire with new teams, new racers and a little off-season team member shuffling drama!

Team Free Hugs combined forces with the South Florida powerhouse West Side Racing to form the Team Free Hugs by West Side Racing Team for 2020. After the November first round with record attendance and super competitive racing, Team Free Hugs by West Side Racing jumped out to early team championship lead over Hurricane Racing Team by less than fifty points. Former FMRRA amateur overall champion Daryan Martin lead the team with 116 points in the expert division with amateur Romulo Ruiz contributing 130 points to a total of 716 points over the second place Hurricane Racing with 670 points.

Perennial FMRRA team champion Hurricane Racing Team sits in second place after the November first round of racing held at Palm Beach International Raceway with 670 points. Hurricane racing had some high profile roster changes for the 2020 season with the addition of the 2019 FMRRA expert overall champion Sean Dwyer from the now defunct Black Ops Racing. Another big roster change is the loss of long time Hurricane Racing Team racer and 2019 FMRRA amateur overall champion Dustin Richards who moves to Team South Florida Cycles. We’ll hear from an emotional Richards in the Team South Florida Cycles Interview below.

Always competitive Team BPM Motorsports just missed the 2018 FMRRA Team Championship in the 2018 final round in Roebling Road Raceway and looks to come back strongly in 2020. With a balanced team of new aggressive amateurs and veteran expert racers, Team BPM sits in third place in the 2020 FMRRA Team Championship with 544 points and looks like a force to be reckoned with in 2020.

Sitting in fourth place currently in the FMRRA 2020 Team Championship is Team South Florida Cycles with 446 points. Beset by injuries last year, Team South Florida Cycles looks to be a strong contender in 2020, with some new additions to the team. Returning to racing this year is former national competitor and Team Hooters racer Tim Hunt. Another big addition is former Hurricane Racing Team and FMRRA 2019 amateur overall champion Dustin Richards. Dustin Richards gives an emotional interview to the move to Team South Florida Cycles and his outlook this year. 2020 looks to be an exciting year for Team SFC!

With seven rounds remaining, including the double points final round at Homestead-Miami Speedway, there is still plenty of time for other teams with strong racers to move up the standings this year.
