Racers from Florida, Louisiana, Texas, the Carolinas, and all over the southern states converge on NOLA Motorsports Park over the May 5th – 6th for round 2 of PanAmerican SuperBike (PanAmSBK) 2023 season. In true New Orleans fashion, the paddock was packed with parties and fun, while the track was packed with close exciting racing!

In the inaugural event at NOLA, Florida’s Lucas Silva was the big winner with three race wins, SuperStock 600 Grande Corsa, SUNOCO SuperBike 600 Grande Corsa, and SuperStock 600 Sprint! Not only was he the big winner of the weekend, Lucas rides away with the closest race win of the weekend. In the first race of the day, SuperStock 600 Grande Corsa, he was able to draft past Tyson Grigor for the win by 0.005 seconds!

In our 1000 class, we watched Florida’s Alex Irzyk and Texas’ Walter Walker III battle it out from start to finish. During the SuperStock 1000 Grande Corsa, Alex and Walter had 4 lead changes as they crossed the finish line, but we lost count of the number passes between them during a single lap. Walter took the checker flag over Alex by 1 second. Three races later, Walter and Alex were on the grid again against each other. They did not disappoint! At the line, we recorded 4 lead changes again, but no one could keep count of the lead changes around the track! When the checker flag came out, it was Alex returning the favor with the race win by 2 seconds over Walter.

Louisiana racers had a great showing on their home track.

Tyson Grigor finished the weekend with a race win in the SUNOCO SuperBike 600 Sprint race and three 2nd place podium finishes in the SUNOCO SuperBike 600 Grande Corsa, SuperStock 600 Grande Corsa, and SuperStock 600 Sprint.

NOLA local, Amateur racer Corey Richardson finished the weekend with multiple podium finishes, race wins in the Sunoco SuperBike 1000 Grande Corsa and Formula 40 1000 and 2nd place finishes in the Sunoco SuperBike 1000 Sprint and SuperStock 1000 Sprint race.

Thank you to all the racers, friends, family, and spectators who came out. We are already looking forward to returning to The Big Easy next year.
