The Barber Motorsports Park designed by Alan Wilson is the brain child of George Barber. The park sits on 880 acres and includes the world-renowned Barber Vintage Motorsport Museum. called the world’s largest museum by the Guinness Book of World Records.
The facility opened in 2003 with the Alan Wilson designed road course measuring 2.38-mile (3.83 km) with 17 turns along its length. The park is known for its immaculate grounds where you find shaded grassy hills instead of bleachers to watch the on the track action. Within those grounds spectators can find something called “George’s Critters” which include wild animals, giant spiders, martians that are sprinkled all over the property. A giant spider known as “Charlotte” marks one of the famous turn 5 and 6 complex called Charlotte’s Web.
